At forty-something, and with two children, Anna Seeley leads a very active life and places a strong emphasis on her health and nutrition. Daily supplements like glucosamine, omega 3 and vitamin D are part of her routine, along with collagen and plenty of water. She recommends keeping a water bottle close by and adds electrolytes once a day to improve hydration and absorption.
Anna does not follow strict diets because she believes they can create anxiety and negative thoughts around food. She focuses on balanced meals that keep her body fuelled, healthy and ready for her busy teaching schedule.

On particularly hectic days she might opt for a homemade shake made with protein, fruit, vegetables, milk and water. Evenings are a time for winding down with herbal teas and magnesium baths to restore her body and prepare for a restful night.
Breakfast (07:00 – 08:00)
Oats With Fruit and Nuts
Anna usually starts her day between 7 and 8 in the morning with a bowl of porridge oats. She adds seeds, raw nuts like almonds or cashews, honey and fresh fruit such as blueberries, raspberries or banana.
Why it works: Oats provide slow-release carbohydrates that keep her full and her energy steady, making it a perfect start for a day filled with teaching and movement.
Lunch (12:00 – 14:00)
Vibrant Leafy Salads
Lunch depends on her schedule and usually falls between 12 and 2.

Anna loves fresh, vibrant salads with leaves like spinach for iron and crunchy vegetables such as radishes, cucumber and carrot.
Why it works: Healthy fats like avocado and proteins such as boiled eggs make the meals satisfying and nourishing. Tuna and mackerel are her go-to sources of omega 3, while chicken adds extra protein to support muscle recovery after a busy morning of classes.

Snack (11:00 – 15:00)
Snacking is an important part of Anna’s day. She enjoys dried fruit, raw nuts and fresh fruit like apples, mango, pears and satsumas in winter. Savoury snacks are also a favourite including slices of cheese, boiled eggs and cured ham. Why it works: Topping up protein maintains energy and supports her muscles.
Dinner (18:00 – 20:30)
Chicken Thighs and Chorizo Cooked in Tomato and Chicken Stock
Dinner is often dictated by evening classes. A favourite meal is chicken thighs and chorizo cooked in tomato and chicken stock with red onion, garlic, peppers, herbs, lentils and butter beans.

Why it works: Served with wild rice, this meal is hearty, full of protein and pulses, low in fat and perfectly warming on a winter evening.
Beverages & Hydration
Water | Herbal Tea | Coffee
Water is Anna’s go-to drink throughout the day. She enjoys tea or coffee once daily and herbal tea in the evenings. She avoids fruit juice because of the high sugar content and often adds electrolytes to her water to stay hydrated.
Eating Philosophy
Anna maintains a flexible approach to eating. She avoids strict rules that can be hard to stick to with her busy, active lifestyle. She believes that a little of everything is beneficial and that completely denying oneself can lead to unhealthy patterns. Her focus is on eating as healthily and balanced as possible while still enjoying the foods she loves.
