Why Cver Matters: Our Founder’s Story

Welcome to the first edition of Cver.

This magazine has been in the making for a long time. After years building gyms, growing fitness brands and working across sport, health and wellness, I’ve seen the highs and the lows. 

There’s more content out there than ever before, but with that comes hype, noise and misinformation.

Cver was born from a simple idea: to create something honest, intelligent and accessible. A place that cuts through the clutter and reminds us what health and sport are really about – enjoyment, progress, truth and passion.

Like many of you, my own path hasn’t always been straightforward. I’ve had times when I lost motivation, felt directionless or burned out. Every time, movement pulled me back. Whether it was a gym session, a game of padel, a swim or just walking the dogs, being active helped me reset and reconnect with myself.

Sport has always been my anchor. I’ve followed it across the world – from football and rugby to tennis, swimming and motorsport – and I’ve spent countless hours cheering from the sidelines at my kids’ matches. Those moments, big and small, carry the same weight.

Health and fitness have shaped who I am and how I live. Cver is my way of giving back – a platform for real people and real stories, designed to inspire everyone to move, feel and live better.

What Sport Means to Me

  • Emotion: You feel it in your chest, win or lose.
  • Connection: It brings people together – families, teammates, strangers in the stands.
  • Resilience: It teaches you how to fall and how to get back up.
  • Joy: Pure joy, whether you’re watching, playing or just part of it.
  • Legacy: It shapes who we are, and who our kids become.

What Health & Fitness Means to Me

  • It’s not about looking perfect, it’s about feeling alive.
  • It’s energy, balance, clarity and strength.
  • It’s moving in ways that make you want to move again.
  • It’s mental health, confidence and control over your own life.
  • It’s for everyone, not just athletes.

“It’s not about the six-pack. It’s about showing up for yourself.”
